Mrs. Veronica Trahan is native of Shreveport, Louisiana.  Her career in education began as a 10th grade special education teacher at Woodlawn High School; 6th grade science teacher at Linear Middle School; 9th grade Physical Science teacher at Northwood High School and Green Oaks Performing Arts Academy; Science Master Teacher at Green Oaks Performing Arts Academy and Graduation Coach at Booker T. Washington High School. Mrs. Trahan received several awards and recognition as teacher of the year for Linear Middle School, class sponsors and department heads to name a few. The achievements she’s most proud of is winning numerous grants to purchase materials to make learning fun. Her grants included, QSM, AEP SWEPCO and a three-time winner of KTBS One Class at a Time.

Mrs. Trahan earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biochemical Sciences from Louisiana State University-Shreveport. She also holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Louisiana State University-Shreveport and is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Louisiana. She is a member of several professional and civic organizations including Louisiana Counseling Association and National Alliance on Mental Illness. Mrs. Trahan also proudly served her country in the United States Naval Reserve and retired in 2006 with 20 years. She is using the structure obtained in the military to assist young people with being productive members of society.

Her philosophy is that all students can achieve and should be afforded the opportunity to do so. As a counselor, she will ensure all students are prepared for high school. She will assist each student with achieving their educational and personal goals.

Mrs. Trahan is married to her best friend and soulmate, Raymond Trahan, Jr. In her free time, Mrs. Trahan enjoys traveling, fishing, volunteering and spending time with family and friends.
